About ISSA
Founded in 2025 and based in Rochester, Minnesota, the Immigrant Social Services Association (ISSA) is a nonprofit organization created by immigrants, for immigrants. Born from lived experience, ISSA exists to support the unique needs of multi-generational immigrant households—recognizing the challenges families face when navigating new systems while honoring their cultural roots and caring across generations.
ISSA provides programs and resources that focus on education, mentorship, and community connection, with the goal of empowering immigrant families to thrive—not just survive. Whether through language access, school support, or intergenerational workshops, we are building a stronger, more inclusive future—one where every immigrant feels seen, supported, and equipped to succeed.
Our Mission
ISSA’s mission is to empower immigrant families—especially multi-generational households—by providing culturally responsive support, education, and resources that foster connection and long-term success. We are committed to building strong community networks that uplift immigrant voices, reduce barriers, and create opportunities for every generation to thrive with dignity and confidence.

Our Vision
ISSA envisions a community where immigrant families are fully supported, connected, and empowered to lead fulfilling lives across generations. We strive toward a future where every immigrant—regardless of age or background—has access to the tools, education, and networks they need to grow, contribute, and feel a true sense of belonging in Rochester and beyond.
